Large Baobab Branch

A Crude Wooden Shortbow [branch & gut string]
Craft branch bowstring into a crude wooden shortbow:
Made from a branch of agafari, this shortbow has been crudely crafted, the asymmetrical nature of the branch means it is unbalanced but light and flexible. There are notches in the wood where it has been damaged either from use or during construction and does not seem well cared for. Other parts of the wood chip away where the oiling has worn off.

A Bone-Handled Baobab Bow [branch,bone piece & bowstring] value 52 sid. Wt. 3 stones [ @ Dim Hut] [ @ RS]
Craft branch bone string into a bone-handled baobab bow:
Fashioned from maroon baobab wood, this bow is about the height of a halfling. The bowstring is fashioned from string woven from corded plant fibers, and extremely resistant material that makes the string harder to pull. A bone grip is attached to the wood where the user should grip to provide guidance and protection from splinters.
Yields: a bone-handled baobab shortbow

A Polished Baobab Bow [branch & sinew string] value 296 sid. Wt. 3 stones [90 @ Dim Hut] [500 @ RS]
Craft branch bowstring into a polished baobab bow:
A length of baobab nearly six cords in length has been bound at either end with a cured sinew bowstring. The tension on the bow is slight, the flexibility of the wood itself allowing a long draw. The wood has been polished, the darkened color smooth and shiny.
Yields: a polished baobab longbow

Large Agafari Branch

A Pale Wood Bow [branch & sinew string or gut string] value 208 sid. wt. 7 stones [79 @ Dim Hut] [475 @ RS]
Craft branch string into a pale wood bow:
This medium-sized longbow is made from agafari wood that has been faded into a paler shade of grey than is normally found on the tree. The wood has been well-polished and smoothed to the point where only carved notches at the handle are necessary as a grip. The thick, strong bowstring is looped over deep notches in either end.
Yields: a pale wood longbow

A Slender Agafari Bow [branch & sinew string] value 23 sid. wt. 2 stones [20 @ Dim Hut]
Craft branch string into a slender agafari bow:
This long, slender bow appears to be little more than an unadorned length of wood with a wound bit of gut strung between each end. Upon closer examination, however, this remarkably light bow is in fact quite skillfully made. The wood has apparently been exceptionally well-chosen for a combination of supple strength and light weight, and it appears that someone has taken great pains to keep both wood and string well waxed and treated. Along each arm has been artfully but only very faintly carved a depiction of a silt horror, its tentacles curling up to the ends and almost appearing to intertwine with the string itself.
Yields: a slender agafari longbow

A Carved Horn Longbow [horn & sinew] value 61 sid. wt. 5 stones
Craft horns string into a carved horn longbow:
Made from a single piece of horn, this short, sturdy bow is unornamented, looking quite functional and practical. A gut string stretches from notch to notch, and leather cording wrapped around the middle provides a secure grip.

An Elegant Bone-Handled Duskhorn Longbow [horn, sinew & short length of bone] value 23 sid. wt. 2 stones
Craft horns string bone into an elegant bone-handled duskhorn longbow:
Two elegantly curved duskhorns have been bound together to create this finely crafted long bow. A carved, bone bind, strapped with leather, has been used to seal the horns together and also serves as a comfortable hand grip. It is strung with a well-cleaned length of sinew. The bow is durable and sturdy, but its materials make it less flexible than other bows and harder to pull.

Slingshot Making Recipes

Craft vine into numut vine strap:

Craft branch into forked … [large agafari branch]
This piece of agafari seems to have been carved into a long, two pronged fork. The surface has been sanded down slightly, yet for the most part it remains somewhat unworked. The prongs are slightly thin, making them elastic, and bendable.

An Agafari-Handled Slingshot
Craft strap forked into agafari slingshot:
This simple weapon consists of a sturdy, yet flexible branch of agafari that has been carved into a two-pronged fork, and a tightly wound vine strap tied between the two prongs. The middle of the strap broadens, forming a cup where missiles can be placed. It is worn from use, but the leather has been well-oiled to keep it supple.
